Librarians CommitteeMembers:
There shall be a standing committee of the Association called the Librarians Advisory Committee. Purpose:To enhance the flow of information each way between the Association and its professional librarian members. Directives:To advise the Executive Committee and, upon request, any other LUFA officer, representative or committee, on matters of importance to the professional librarian membership. Limitations:No action of the committee shall take effect until ratified by the Executive Committee, except for such issues where the power to act has been delegated to the committee by the Executive Committee or by the general membership. Reporting:To report on the activities of the committee at each general meeting and at other meetings as required; to present a written report to members at the Annual General Meeting and at other times as required. Meetings:The time, place and frequency of meetings shall be determined by the committee. Composition:Four professional librarian members of the Association. Term of Office:Two members elected each year for staggered two-year terms. Selection:Elected at the Annual General meeting. Only professional librarian members are eligible to vote in elections to this committee. Vacancies occurring on the committee before an Annual General Meeting shall be filled by a professional librarian member elected by the remaining members of the committee, subject to ratification by the professional librarian membership generally at the next general meeting. Chair:The committee appoints its own chair, who shall be a member of the Bargaining Unit. |
